About Strada

Strada means “street” in Italian. Streets matter to us. They’re the fundamental infrastructure of our cities and the core of our civic lives. They’re the connections between buildings, people, and public spaces. This is why we’re so inspired by them and it’s a shared commitment to these values that brought our principals together. Just as people mingle on city streets, our office is a place where we freely exchange ideas, challenging and inspiring one another to create exceptional work.

Welcome to Pittsburgh, SCUP-49!

07.2014Firm news
By admin@stradallc

We are delighted to welcome fellow SCUPers to Pittsburgh for the 49th annual international conference, “Plan for Transformation,” on July 12-16. Established in 1965, the Society for College and University Planning (SCUP) is a dynamic community of leaders in the field of higher education who direct academic, strategic and campus planning efforts.

Many of Strada’s principals have been involved with SCUP at the regional and national level for decades. Principals Al Cuteri, Robert McCauley, and Michael Stern will all attend this year’s conference.

As part of the program, Strada will lead a tour called “The Google Effect” on Sunday, July 13 from 12:30 pm to 4:00 pm. The sold-out tour will begin with a visit to the Collaborative Innovation Center at Carnegie Mellon University, where Google launched a pilot office. It will then head to Bakery Square for a tour of Google’s offices, designed by Strada. The tour will explore the symbiotic relationship between universities and cities that is fueling innovation, technology transfer, economic development and urban revitalization.

To celebrate the conference, Strada will open the doors of its Pittsburgh office to the higher education community on Tuesday, July 15. Please come join your higher-ed colleagues for refreshments and a tour of our studio from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.
