Mixed-use Development
Strada's experience and expertise in the urban design and architecture of urban mixed-use development, as well as our active involvement in the urban design and development communities, brings technical understanding of the component parts, and a talent for creating vibrant communities, to each project. We have a clear understanding of the political intricacies of the urban planning and approval maze. We speak the languages of city planning and development, and have been instrumental in helping to negotiate the overlapping and sometimes conflicting agenda of today's urban governmental structure. Developing consensus during the design process and speaking with authority on planning and design issues, we help move our clients' projects forward.
Strada has demonstrated their expertise through numerous architectural and urban design projects, including Michael Stern's work on the Pittsburgh Downtown Plan and the Regional Parks Master Plan. Current mixed-use design projects include Continental Real Estates' North Shore development in Pittsburgh, Millcraft Investments' Crossroads development in Washington, PA, Piatt Place and the Fifth and Market District, both in Downtown Pittsburgh.

College and University
Strada is dedicated to a collaborative design process that brings quality solutions to enhance the lives of the students, faculty, and staff who occupy the spaces they create. We have considerable experience in higher education projects and have completed numerous office and plaza projects. Alan J. Cuteri, AIA, Principal-in-Charge, is LEED certified and has designed and managed over 100 projects for the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University over the past ten years. Additional clients include California University of Pennsylvania, Community College of Allegheny County. We also recently signed a term contract with Slippery Rock University and West Virginia University.
Our staff has designed small classroom renovation projects, major renovation projects for an entire department, adaptive reuse projects involving single or multiple floors, and new stand-alone building plans for these universities. In addition to full architectural services, Strada also offers interior design, landscape architecture, urban design, and historic preservation/restoration services. We have the ability to service universities through the talents and experience of our office located near most major college campuses in the mid-Atlantic region.
