- East Liberty apartments in Pittsburgh's almost fully booked
East Liberty Place North, a 54-unit apartment and retail development built as the first stage to replace a former East Mall high-rise in Pittsburgh, opened Thursday and is almost fully occupied. That’s according to the city’s Urban Redevelopment Authority and The Community Builders Inc., the nonprofit housing developer that under took the project located at a key gateway parcel on the north side of East Liberty’s Penn Avenue business district. Intern Architect Paulina Wilkowska recently participated in a local design-build competition in association with the carpenter's training center. In collaboration with a contractor and carpenter they designed and built a tree house in 8 hours.

- Martine Joins Licensure Board
On April 29, 2008 Strada principal John Martine, AIA, began his tenure as a member of the Pennsylvania State Licensure Board.

The principals at Strada announced today that Strada Associate, Dina Fredrickson Snider, AIA accepted an offer to become a Principal of the firm, and that Raymond F. McCaughey, AIA and Thomas Price, AIA have been promoted to Associates.

John A. Martine, AIA has been appointed to jury the American Society of Architectural Illustrators (ASAI) 2007 Architecture in Perspective 22 competition entries. - Strada Wins Design Award from the AIA CAE
Strada has received a Design Citation award from the American Institute of Architects Committee on Architecture for Education. This award recognizes Mifflin School as an expemplary project that exhibits innovation in the design of learning environments.
- Strada Announces New Hires
Strada has hired Robert W. Dower II as a full-time intern architect. In addition, Strada has hired two summer interns to work this summer: Adam P. Hall from Carnegie Mellon University and Chris L. Lynn from Cornell University. Both are pursuing their master's degrees.

John A. Martine, AIA was recently appointed to the Board of Directors for Preservation Pennsylvania. Preservation Pennsylvania is a statewide voice for historic preservation in Pennsylvania. This nonprofit organization's mission is to assist Pennsylvania communities to protect and utilize historic resources they want to preserve for the future.

- Strada Announces New Project in Westmoreland County
Strada and Rycon Construction were recently selected by the Westmoreland Development Council as the design/build team for a four-story 64,000 s.f. addition over the existing Courthouse Square Extension. The design will connect the existing Annex via a walkway over Pennsylvania Avenue to the existing Westmoreland County Courthouse.

Strada proudly announces that Alan J. Cuteri, AIA, Principal recently received a Certificate of Completion from the Society of College and University Planners (SCUP) Planning Institute. Completing all three Institute sessions over the past two years, Al is one of the first 28 professionals internationally to earn this certificate.

The University of Pittsburgh has awarded the firm the design of the new Public Safety Building for the main campus in Oakland, a neighborhood in the City of Pittsburgh. The University of Pittsburgh Public Safety Building is a four story 23,200 s.f. building that will house the University Police and Environmental Health and Safety Departments.

Millcraft Investments officially announced their purchase of the former Lazarus Department Store in Downtown Pittsburgh and unveiled the new design. Millcraft commissioned Strada to design the conversion of the former 265,000 s.f. Lazarus Department Store and turn it into an exciting mixed-use project named Piatt Place.
- Strada Receives Interior Award From AIA Pittsburgh Chapter
Strada received a Certificate of Merit in Interior Architecture from the Pittsburgh Chapter of the American Institute of Architects for the design of the new Ibiza Tapas and Wine Bar on East Carson Street. The new 3,500 s.f. restaurant is located next to Mallorca Restaurant on Pittsburgh's South Side.

Michael Stern and Mason Radkoff of Strada were selected as two of 16 Pittsburgh designers to be featured in By design, a new exhibition at 937 Liberty Avenue. By design aims to provide insight into how designers make connections, interpret content, express meaning through visual form, and observe the world.
- Strada Architects Present Seminar at Virginia Conference
John A. Martine, AIA and Tom Price, Associate AIA, presented “Patching Pittsburgh: Stitching the Past and the Present Together to Mend the Urban Fabric” at Architecture Exchange East in Virginia. The largest Virginia building and design conference was held from Nov. 2-4, 2005 at the Greater Richmond Convention Center.

Michael A. Stern, ASLA has been elected to serve as Chairman of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) Pittsburgh District Council. Michael, an active member in ULI, serves on the Inner-City Council, national advisory panels, and recently published an article in Urban Land magazine titled “Pittsburgh Forges Ahead”.

- Strada Celebrates Grand Opening of Ibiza Restaurant
Strada celebrated the grand opening of Pittsburgh's first authentic Wine & Tapas Bar, Ibiza Restaurant, on Friday, June 10th. The new 3,500 s.f. restaurant is located on E. Carson Street next to Mallorca Restaurant on Pittsburgh's South Side. With seating for 90 inside and an additional 35 in the rear courtyard, the restaurant provides a fresh contemporary look that compliments the historic East Carson Street neighborhood.
- Mifflin Elementary School Dedication
Today at 1:00 p.m., students, teachers, administrators and friends will gather to dedicate the new addition to Mifflin Elementary School. District representatives, school board officials, Pittsburgh Public Schools administrators, and Strada Architecture will give remarks as teachers and students gather inside the new addition around the historic 1932 cast iron bell.

Strada celebrated the beginning of Phase One of their master plan for “The Crossroads” – the revitalization plan for downtown Washington, PA – with the groundbreaking of the first anchor building, Nationwide Centre. Nationwide Centre, the first piece of Phase One of “The Crossroads”, was designed by Strada and developed by Millcraft Industries.

Strada recently received a Historic Preservation Award from Preservation Pennsylvania recognizing the firm's role in planning and designing Mifflin Elementary School's new addition and renovation. Strada also received two historic preservation awards from the City of Pittsburgh Historic Review Commission for Mifflin Elementary School and George C. Cupples Stadium renovation projects.
