PITTSBURGH, PA – Strada proudly announces that Alan J. Cuteri, AIA, Principal and Sean Beasley, Staff Architect have recently been named as LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Accredited Professionals™ by the United States Green Building Council (USGBC). With principal leadership in LEED, Strada provides full LEED certification services to its clients. LEED Accredited Professionals™ are experienced building industry practitioners who have successfully completed an accreditation exam, which demonstrates their knowledge of integrated design and their capacity to facilitate the LEED certification process. The accreditation program recognizes expertise in green building and LEED to help meet the growing demand for sustainable, energy-efficient, innovative, and environmentally friendly architecture. Strada’s knowledge and commitment to “green” urban design and building practices and principles have always been an integral part of the firm’s design process and material selection. Even before the creation of LEED, many of Strada’s projects and plans have focused on the revitalization of urban neighborhoods and incorporated recycled materials, natural ventilation and lighting, construction waste management, and public transportation elements. Many of the projects are based on the adaptive reuse of existing buildings, interiors, and urban sites and districts, which is an inherently sustainable approach to design. The reuse of existing structures and neighborhoods supports both LEED points and New Urbanist principles. Current projects with a strong focus on sustainable design include a K-8 school, urban plaza renovation, several multi-unit residential projects and numerous urban revitalization and brownfield redevelopment projects. Strada, an architecture, interior design, landscape, and urban design firm, is located in the Pittsburgh Cultural District and was founded in 2000 by Alan J. Cuteri, AIA, LEED; Edward A. Shriver, Jr., AIA, CCS; John A. Martine, AIA; and Michael A. Stern, ASLA. Strada employs 18 creative and passionate individuals who value knowledge, collaboration, and creativity.
