- People and Projects Fill Strada’s Liberty Avenue Aerie
PITTSBURGH, PA – Strada Architecture downtown office is filling up. With the addition of new staff and summer interns the top floor of the Ewart Building is beginning to feel less like the Liberty Avenue aerie it once was and more like a bustling workroom as people and new projects flock to Strada. Though ground has not yet broken on the Majestic Star Casino project there is plenty of preliminary work to be done. Strada architects are also busy on Piatt Place, the Bridgeside Building (spec lab space on the shore of the Monongahela near the Hot Metal Bridge) and the GC Murphy project, which is a residential/retail project and an historic preservation effort. The four new professionals at Strada are: Jennifer Tolner, RLA, ASLA, joins Strada as a Landscape Architect. Jennifer has over 8 years experience in design, project management, and the management of interdisciplinary teams of architects, structural, civil, and electrical engineers. Her past projects include management of a $2 million riverfront park project, design of an award-winning new housing development site using sustainable design tenets, creating master plans for parks ranging in size from a few to hundreds of acres, and designing a streetscape as the centerpiece of Pittsburgh’s West End neighborhood revitalization. Nasilele Namakando has a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Arizona in Tucson, and a Master of Urban Design from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Prior to joining Strada, Nasilele worked for “Center for the Adventist Ministry to Secular University Students” where she receive graduate level theology and bible training for missionary work. Nasilele also worked in architects’ offices in Phoenix, Tucson, and Addis Ababa, Ethiopia where she assisted with construction documents, site verifications, and participated in contractor/engineering/architect project meeting sessions. Benjamin Maguire received a Bachelor of Architecture in 2005 from Carnegie Mellon University. Since earning his degree he provided construction administration services on St. Bernadette’s Lourdes Center, a 20,000 sq. ft. recreation center for Hayes Design in Pittsburgh, and design and development services on Plaza San Clemente, a 600,000 sq. ft multi-use development in Santa Barbara while at Studio Progetti. Pat Hart, a business-to-business marketing and communications specialist, joined Strada as the Marketing Director. Most recently, Pat led her own marketing and communications consulting practice, Hart+Muzzonigro, where she was the primary strategist and copywriter. Clients included Eaton Electric, Allegheny Power, Steel City, Powerlink and the Kell Group. Previously, Pat was an Account Director for Dymun Nelson, Hallmark Tassone, Van Dine Humphrey, and Electronic Images, a division of Marc Advertising.
