- ULI Pittsburgh Program: A Panel Discussion on Downtown Transformation
Date: Monday, September 21, 2009; 4–6 pm
Lower Fifth Avenue and Market Square are where many exciting projects are coming to fruition after over a decade of planning and public/private investment. At last, a critical mass of redevelopment efforts stands ready to transform the heart of Downtown. This is an excellent opportunity to showcase the combined results of private/private partnerships to achieve the goal of urban sustainability. Capitalizing on the existing sustainable assets of Downtown: high mass transit usage, large workforce, regional destination, increasing residential population – and incorporating new green building technologies – these projects are a key example of the regional transformation that is the centerpiece of the G-20 Summit. Two Strada projects: Piatt Place and MarketSquare Place are key projects in the revitalization of this district and will be featured in the discussion.
